I live in Dunnville, Ontario. I am opposed to the proposed redrawing of the electoral boundaries that would sever the eastern portion of Haldimand County from the district of Haldimand Norfolk.
The lower Grand River region has been part of Haldimand County for many decades. Its governing council and residents have long been connected with Haldimand Norfolk. The villages in this area have historically been affiliated with one another, as well as to the villages along the north shore of Lake Eerie to the west. They have no affiliation with the large cities of St. Catharines and Niagara Falls. For these reasons, my family recommends that the electoral boundary NOT be changed to make us part of the Niagara West district.
