RE: Electoral Boundaries Review
Mr. Mazier,
The Town of Swan River has reviewed our Federal Electoral Boundary information. The Town understands the decreasing population in northern Manitoba, though we as a council recognize many advantages to the current Federal Electoral District, our Town shares comparable economic, business, and transportation challenges and successes in comparison to Dauphin and Neepawa. Our Mayor and Council are strong on the position that the Dauphin-Swan River-Neepawa electoral boundary does not change, and that Swan River would like to remain in the “southern” electoral district.
Given the opportunity the Town of Swan River would expect you to present our position on our behalf during the public hearing process held by the Commission in the case the current arrangement changes.
