Although I appreciate the need to redefine electoral borders as the population changes, I'd like to know why it makes any sense to split communities between two ridings.

I lived for 16 years in Georgetown ON. While that town is technically in one riding, the proposal has Halton Hills (the amalgamation of Georgetown and surrounding towns) split between three ridings

The city of Milton is split between two ridings - unlike Guelph that is its own riding.

How can we have effective representation if a community isn't represented by the same person?

Electoral riding boundaries are supposed to ensure effective representation. The current proposal does not allow for that if the community has been divided.

I appreciate my concerns being included in the evaluation of the current redistribution proposal.

Thank you,

Patti Mara
