I am a resident of Kanata-North and I am supportive of the new electoral boundaries.

Like many others, I am concerned that as more diverse populations grow in suburban areas, we are too slow to adjust our electoral boundaries to maintain a fair electoral quotient across districts. This creates an unfairness where some votes simply count more than others and it is happening in Kanata now. It goes beyond simple unfairness and can reinforce systemic racism as the make-up of suburban populations is generally, and specifically in Kanata, more diverse than the neighbouring rural communities. There is no justification for this disparity and I am in support of new electoral boundaries because, a I understand it, they will mitigate this problem.
